The 30-Minute Digital Cleanup

Most people can delete 1–5 GB of unnecessary data in 30 minutes.

In partnership with JCI Quatre-Bornes Eco Tech Rise, members of Junior Chamber International Quatre-Bornes are joining the global movement of Digital Cleanup Day.

This page has been created to help JCI members, friends and family take part in the JCI Digital Cleanup Challenge as part of Digital Cleanup Day Mauritius 2026.

3-Device Challenge

Spend 30 minutes (or more) clearing digital clutter.

Step 1 - Download the Toolkit

The toolkit explains exactly how to take part.

You will learn:

• how to check your storage
• what files to delete
• how to estimate the space you freed

Participants are encouraged to:

• Clean their own device
• Help clean one family member’s device
• Invite one friend or colleague

In just 30 minutes, most people can delete 1–5 GB of unnecessary data.

Step 2 - Clean Your Devices

Spend 30-60 (or more) minutes deleting unnecessary files.

Examples:

• old emails and spam
• large attachments
• duplicate photos
• old videos
• unused apps
• downloads and old files
• cloud storage files

When finished, empty your Trash / Recycle Bin.

Step 3 — Submit Your Result

After your cleanup, estimate how much storage space you freed.

Then submit your result using the Digital Cleanup Day form.

This helps measure the collective impact of the challenge.

Challenge One More Person

After cleaning your device, help one family member or friend do the same.

Small digital actions can create a big collective impact.
